Befriending the Body - mindfulness, play and movement
Wednesday Wise Owls and Absolute Alchemy Present...Befriending the Body - mindfulness, play and movement
This workshops will combine mindfuless practices, group play and embodied movement to reconnect to our bodies, re-ignite our curosity and cultaviate new postive action patterns of self-care.
This workshop is open to anyone who thinks their mind and body deserve a bit of love and attention (so.... everyone!).
We can actively befriend our inner experiences and cultivate new positive action patterns of self-care, by becoming more aware of experienced or secondary traumas, memory and connections of the body.
Embodiment and movement practices can provide an inroad to our inner landscapes where we can view the imprints of trauma left on the body. Movement can be used as a catalyst for releasing those energies stuck in the body and reconnect with ourselves in order to respond mindfully to each moment. Intentional, directed movement is an essential component of mindfulness. By acknowledging that the body provides constant information for us we can manage and recover from stress and build resilience.
This workshop, led by dance-artist Ciara Lynch, will combine mindfulness practices, group play and embodied movement to reconnect with our bodies, re-ignite our curiosity and cultivate new positive action patterns of self-care.
This workshop is open to anyone who thinks their mind and body deserves a bit of love and attention, and those interested by movement therapy. Within this communal space we will use movement as a source of joy and inspiration to unlock our child-like curiosity to bring awareness to the body. Let’s approach our body with the curiosity of a child.
This workshop aims to create that space where we can be free to reconnect with ourselves.
“Between the stimulus and the response is a space. In that space lies our ability to choose. In our ability to choose lies our growth and our freedom.”
